Stephen Covey, author of the wildly successful book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, wrote, “Depending on what they are, our habits will either make us or break us. We become what we repeatedly do.”
Your habits can make you or break you. It can make all the difference in how your life turns out. Good habits can help you be great in any area of life, especially our finances. Bad habits can be just as powerful.
7 habits of highly effective people book by Stephen Covey.
Here are my 3 powerful money habits:
-
- Stack away More than 10% – Forget the standard savings rule of thumb that says to save 10% of your paycheck. The more you stack away is the better off you will be.
- Don’t just Set It and Forget It – Setting up and automating your savings and or payment is great but highly successful people keep a close tab and monitor their financials. They don’t turn a blind eye once they set up the system. As for me, am obsessed with my bank accounts. I check my bank accounts every week just to keep a good pulse on where things stand and find opportunity where I can save or invest more money. Get in the habit of doing a weekly money check to review your spending, keeping on track with your budget and where you can find more opportunities to stack away more money.
- Always be in stacking mode – Think of ways how you can make or get more money. Put your money to work harder for you and explore ways to trade less time for more dollars by working smarter and not harder.
